Warm Teachers’ Day Celebration at SMA Islam Al Azhar 3
One week has passed, precisely November 25, 2025, and all the teachers are pleased because that date is National Teachers’ Day in Indonesia.
The celebration was not grand, but the form of attention and appreciation from students and parents, spearheaded by the student-parent representatives (Jam’iyyah), created a warm, happy atmosphere.
The celebration of Teachers’ Day began when the parent representatives (Jam’iyyah), led by Mrs. Risanah Fananie, known as Mrs. Ica, entered the teachers’ room carrying a special gift: yellow tumpeng rice. The event began with a warm welcome from the principal, Mr. Syamsudin, who conveyed several happy messages on National Teachers’ Day. This was followed by remarks from the head of Jam’yyah, Mrs. Ica, and she was very grateful to all the teachers for their dedication and devotion to educating the students of Al Azhar Islamic High School 3. This was followed by congratulations from the students, represented by the OSIS-MPK administrators, who presented two special gifts symbolizing their love for their teachers. And closed with a prayer read by Mr. Taqi.
After the prayer, the tradition of cutting tumpeng (a yellow cone-shaped rice dish) during National Teachers’ Day celebrations carries profound symbolic significance. Cutting tumpeng typically marks a moment of gratitude and prayer, symbolizing appreciation for teachers’ hard work and dedication. Some students gave their teachers flowers as a meaningful gesture of appreciation, love, and admiration for their commitment and hard work, and also presented bouquets with symbolic meanings, such as perseverance, humility, and patience.
